Tulip Field Family Session at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival | Woodburn Oregon Family Photographer
I was so excited for this session — not just because the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival is one of my favorite spring locations to visit, but because I got to reconnect with a college friend and finally meet their sweet twins! They made the drive up from Eugene to explore the fields with me, and we spent the afternoon soaking up the sunshine and chasing little adventures among the tulips.
What I love most about sessions like this is embracing the natural energy of the day: the bright mid-morning light, the natural unpredictability that comes with toddlers, and the beauty of real emotions. We didn’t worry about forcing smiles or posing perfectly — instead, we let the kids lead with curiosity and feeling, which created some of the most authentic moments their parents will cherish forever.
The festival was in full swing, which made the atmosphere even more magical — we even got a glimpse of the hot air balloon floating above the flowers! Days like this are such a reminder that the best family photos aren’t about perfection — they’re about connection, adventure, and all the tiny moments in between.
